Please Let Us Know in Advance
- When booking, please let reception know about any accessibility needs or preferences. This isn't required — we accommodate walk-in patients too — but a heads-up lets us:
- Book you into the most suitable consulting room
- Allow appropriate appointment time
- Have the right team members briefed
- Ensure the accessible parking bay is clear when you arrive
- Prepare any specific equipment or adjustments in advance
- We treat accessibility information confidentially and only share it with the clinical team who need to know it to look after you well.
Everything You Need to Know
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is the clinic really fully wheelchair-accessible?
Yes. We have accessible parking directly next to the ramp entrance, a step-free ramped entry, wide doorways, wheelchair-friendly reception, wheelchair-accessible consulting rooms and an accessible toilet with grab rails and an emergency call cord. We’re built to welcome you.
Do I need to transfer out of my wheelchair for treatment?
Not necessarily. Many patients prefer to stay in their own wheelchair throughout treatment, and our consulting rooms are designed to allow this. Others prefer to transfer to the dental chair — our team is trained in safe transfer, and we can lower the chair to help. Whatever works best for you is what we’ll do.
Can I bring a carer or companion with me?
Absolutely. Carers, family members, interpreters and companions are always welcome in the consulting room. There’s seating for them alongside you throughout your appointment.
Do you have an accessible toilet?
Yes — a dedicated accessible toilet with grab rails, wheelchair-friendly space for you and a carer, emergency call cord and level access from the corridor. Clearly signposted from the waiting area.
Are you guide-dog friendly?
Yes. Guide dogs and other assistance animals are always welcome. Just let reception know when you arrive so we can make sure your dog has a comfortable spot in the consulting room too.
What if I have limited mobility but don't use a wheelchair?
The same accessibility features (ramp, level access, wide doorways, accessible parking) work equally well for anyone with limited mobility — whether you use a walking frame, a stick, or simply move more slowly. We also allow more time for your appointment on request, so you never feel rushed.
Do you accept patients with special needs, dementia or cognitive difficulties?
Yes, warmly. We adapt our approach to communication, use visual aids and simplified explanations, coordinate closely with carers and family, and offer longer appointments where needed. If you or your loved one needs a “quiet” appointment with reduced sensory input, we can arrange that too.
Is there a lift or is everything on the ground floor?
All our clinical areas — reception, waiting area, consulting rooms and accessible toilet — are on the same level, reached step-free from the ramped entrance. There’s no need to use a lift or stairs at any point during your visit.
Do I need to tell you in advance about my accessibility needs?
It’s not required — but it helps. If you can mention your needs when booking, we can allocate the right consulting room, allow appropriate appointment time, brief the team and ensure the accessible parking bay is clear when you arrive.
